Heather Washburn is a licensed mental health counselor who works with adults and couples navigating
working through anxiety, relationship challenges, and periods of change and the emotional complexities of
pregnancy and early parenthood. In addition to her clinical work, Heather has experience as a birth and
postpartum doula, which informs her understanding of the emotional, relational, and identity shifts that can
occur during major life transitions.

Heather offers both individual therapy and couples therapy tailoring her approach to meet
each client and couples unique needs. Heather works via telehealth offering services to clients residing
within New York State.

Qualifications & Areas of Practice
Heather holds a Master of Science in Education and an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling. Her background also includes experience as a school counselor, which informs her thoughtful, developmentally informed approach to care.

She utilizes a person-centered and cognitive behavioral approach, incorporating evidence-based strategies to support clients in developing practical tools, improving communication, and feeling more confident navigating change. She also integrates a human sexuality-informed lens into her work, supporting individuals and couples in exploring intimacy, connection, and relationship dynamics in a respectful and supportive environment.
