Mental Health Counselor
Julianna Susi is a mental health counselor who provides therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. She
works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, social challenges,
life transitions, family stress, and self-esteem concerns. Julianna offers individual therapy, tailoring her
approach to meet each client’s unique needs, personality, and goals. Julianna offers therapy services both
in-person at our Staten Island office and via telehealth to clients residing throughout New York State.
Qualifications & Areas of Practice
Julianna holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has training in evidence-based
approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She has
experience supporting clients with anxiety disorders, mood-related concerns, emotional regulation challenges,
and interpersonal difficulties.
In addition to individual therapy, she has experience facilitating group therapy, including social skills groups and DBT-informed groups, helping clients feel more connected and supported in their experiences.
Approach to Therapy
Julianna takes an insight-oriented and collaborative approach to therapy, helping clients develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns. She integrates both CBT and DBT techniques to provide practical tools that clients can apply in their daily lives.
She prioritizes creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable, understood, and safe. Her style is relational and client-centered, with a focus on building trust and supporting clients who may feel hesitant or unsure about beginning therapy.
In her work, Julianna helps clients build self-awareness, strengthen confidence, and feel more in control of their emotions and relationships. She is dedicated to supporting meaningful, lasting change while ensuring clients feel supported throughout the therapeutic process.
